A rich, hard, traditional Italian ewe's milk cheese, with fresh black truffle veining.
The Villecco family started producing cheese in the 18th Century. On hearing there was a glut of ewe's milk in Sardinia, they travelled to the island to make cheese in the Spring, to then return to the mainland to sell their cheese in the Summer and Autumn. They then decided to move to the island for good in 1920.
They are a small producer, using traditional methods, taking milk from small farms located around their cheesemaking facility.
